CONVERSION OF 170/470/165/185/188 FWC

MERCRUISER 224 CID  CHARGING SYSTEM

TO VIEW THE KIT CLICK HERE

1)REMOVE THE PARTS OF THE WAGNER KIT FROM THE BOX AND SORT THE SCREWS.

2)FID THE PULLEY AND 3 SCREWS AND WASHERS AND PLACE IT ON THE DAMPER IN FRONT OF THE MOTOR.

3)IF THERE IS ANY SLACK IN THE PULLEY IT MUST BE CENTERED, IF THE PULLEY IS OFF CENTER IT WILL VIBRATE UNTIL THE BRACKET BREAKS.

4)REMOVE THE ALTERNATOR FROM THE BRACKET ASSEMBLY AND SCREW THE BRACKET TO THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE.

5) REASSEMBLE THE ALTERNATOR TO THE BRACKET AFTER BEING SURE THAT THE OUTPUT WIRE IS ATTACHED.

6) INSTALL THE BELT AND TIGHTEN.

7)START MOTOR FOR A SECOND AND CHECK FOR CENTERING AND VIBRATION.

8)REMOVE THE LARGE BACK FEED WIRE ALTERNATOR CONNECTOR FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SLAVE SOLENOID AND EITHER ADD THE OUTPUT WIRE FROM THE ALTERNATOR ON WITH A HEAVY TERMINAL OR BUTT CONNECT THEM TOGETHER.

9)THE TWO YELLOW WIRES FROM UNDER THE STATOR/ROTOR MUST EITHER BE LOCATED TOGETHER ON ONE TERMINAL  OR TAPED OFF.

10) START THE MOTOR AND CHECK VOLTAGE AT DASH OR BATTERY.  SHOULD BE ABOUT 13-1/2 -- 14 VOLTS..

11) CHECK WAGNERS INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT INSTILLATION AND FUSES.
